You gotta love old Lichtenstein – and he’s all over the place at the mo as a mini pop art revival is underway. I have my eye on this fab ‘Hopeless’ cushion cover available for £15 from the Tate online shop. Visit shop.tate.org.uk to see all their other goodies!
There seems to be a wealth of squirrely goodies popping up in fashion and interiors and I for one love it! Our little woodland friends make for cute jewellery and quirky textile prints – here are a few little treats to tempt you – though you might simply want to squirrel them away for keepsakes!
Above is the rather formidable ceramic ring box by Jonathan Adler (my new interior crush). Buy it at Heals for £149
Ok so it’s not strictly a squirrel but oh I do like it! Silk Purse Sows Ear over on Etsy sells these rather lovely vintage acorn charm necklaces for £14 each.
Or how about this rather swish vintage-stamp inspired cushion? Made by Touch Wood Design, it’s one of a series of limited edition makes. I loves it! £68.
Forget crystal and glass or boring old brass. Change your knobs and inject a touch of the woodland to your cupboards and drawers. This beauty is £6 from Anthropologie. Must…buy…
Adieu for now…
I’m rather fancying this smart new range of home accessories by Ben de Lisi at Debenhams. It’s got pigeons, doubledecker buses, clapperboards and other such fumbly Britishness. I totally have my eye on the typewriter cushion below and love the phone cushion too, but it’s the achingly retro-with-a-modern-twist telephone lamp that I am hankering for – at only £35 I might have to get this for my new home office…
They are both available from Debenhams.com and costs £18 each.
Oooo I love, love, love these quirky cushions. Aptly named The Marionette Collection, they are by Scandi design whizzes, Ferm Living. Reminiscient of 1950s American children’s books these cute characters – particularly Mr Fox, should totally be adorning the comfy chair in our lounge. Cushions for kids? Pff! £30 a pop – spotted these ones at the wonderful Lollipop Shoppe.
I know we’re not meant to like bugs, and I’ll be the first to swipe at a wasp after my sandwiches at a picnic, but these insect-inspired designs by UK based Warbeck & Cox are the bee’s knees! I stumbled across them while browsing the excellent Poppytalk monthly online street market. The Grasshopper cushion above costs £40.
How about offering your dinner guests these beetle napkins. £20 for a set of four. They don’t just go mad for bugs, either. I rather fancy this Key mug (£10) and the fab irons teatowel (£8.50)!
Who said domesticity had to be boring??
Well apologies again for my lapse in postings – having a baby really does take up your time 😉
Elsie Valentina came into the world on August 23 at 12.58pm weighing 8lb 13 and is a real little beauty. I have since been obsessed with cute baby clothes and will post on this shortly, but for now, here are a few things I have spotted recently inbetween burping, feeding and nappy-changing…
H&M has now got a funky home range and while they don’t do a massive load of stuff, i really like what they do – I have already snappped up the cushion and table runner and am in the process of customising these gorgeous bags as Christmas presents for my sisters…
First up: Sel de Mer cushion – £7.99 (image above)
Or how about these linen bags – only £6.99
I have also bought the table runner – I’m really loving the old English rustic vibe. This is only £12.99 too.
While on the hunt for Christmas goodies (I know, I know, it’s early but when you have to be creative with your pennies, it’s worth shopping shrewdly!) I have fallen in love with this beautiful little paper store called Papermash. I have ordered the lace tape from there and also the bird stamp and typewriter tape. So cute – my present wrapping is going to be the bomb!
Lace tape – £5.95
Bird stamp – £12
Here’s one for the kids – how cute is this tooth fairy kit? When Elsie is old enough, she’s having one!
I’ll be back soon with more lusious finds for Christmas…
