I hate January (sorry everyone born this month) it’s grey, cold and I’m always skinto. So I dream of nice things that I might be able to afford one day to make myself happier! Yes, it makes me happy! So what?!
So here are some of my picks of niceness to perk up the grey old days this month!
I totally want to snuggle up with this gorgeous cowl by Suzana Davidovic found over on Ravelry. The Calm Cowl looks soft, comfy and has that grey tone I love.
For eating on…
Good old Anthropology never fails to have products with just the right amount of quirk to be cool. Take this Natural World Dessert Plate, £16. I would probably be tempted to put it on my wall rather than hide it away in the cupboard!
For my feet!
The Milan Court, £110, from Boden, is a sight to behold! Great for sping, and certainly able to cheer up a miserable January day! Might have to save the pennies for these though…
The Crossbody Leather Mini Bag, £45, from Oliver Bonas is really sweet, bright and I insist on cross body bags – none of this two piddly handles business!
For my wall…
Another Oliver Bonas treat (there are so many!) and one that embraces the on-trend copper colour, this wire letter is only £10 and will look superb on my dining room wall. Hope they cheer y’all up too!
I’m back working on fab craft mag, Craftseller after an eight month maternity break and I’m being super-inspired by just about everything in the forthcoming issue! They have just had a new redesign and I love the new look! Check out the Craftseller blog for lots of tips, inspiration and more! Better still, buy the mag 🙂
Oh God! Don’t you just LOVE these oversized clutch bags by Nigerian designer, Dolapo James- who also goes under the name of Urban Knit. They cost £79 and the vibrant mix of Englishness and African textiles just works. I am coveting one of these – badly!
I spotted them on The Shop Project (theshopproject.com) but I warn you – you will get addicted – it is my fab find of the moment.
I have stumbled across a delightful little webshop called Hannah Zakari – what a gem. Set up by jewellery maker and all round magpie, Rachael Lamb, it offers really quirky art prints, handmade bags and the like from independent artists. Vive les independents! Here are some of my selections for your Friday viewing…
How about this rather sweet ‘custard cream’ print? Designed by artist Kate Wilson, I think it’s got a lovely olde worldy feel about it. It costs £20 and is printed onto A5 sized (14.8x21cm) Bockingford artists paper, signed by the artist herself.
OOh! I rather fancy this Beatrice Vintage shopper – great for nipping down tut fruit and veg shop of a weekend and means you won;t need any of those crummy blue plastic bags that cut your hands to shreds and spill spuds all across the road. Again, it’s that quirkiness that lures me in. Again, cheap and cheerful at £12 a pop. It is screen printed on both sides and is made from organic cotton. Designed by Showpony.
Finally, check out this stunning bit of arm candy. Made of leather with beautiful pale green and bright yellow bow sequins and beads and lined in sumptous yellow silk, how could anyone resist? Ok, bit pricier at £65 but I’s say it’s worth it. This little beauty is designed by Dazed Dorothy.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!

It’s Friday, which means the weekend and I cannot tell you just how relieved I am that the week is over! So happy, that I have dedicated today to my ‘Bag Lusts’ – I do hope you enjoy my offerings!
First up is the fabulous Emma Gordon who creates exquisite bags such as the one above and also the one below (so good she warrants two images!) The prices are very reasonable too – this clutch below costs a mere £44- and it’s sooooo pretty!
Or how about the quirky Lost in Love tote by Every Little Counts – a snip at $18 and you can buy online.
