Adoring all things vintage, retro and downright quirky

Oooo j’adore this super dinky little freestanding calendar from Plumo. It costs £69 and is made in metal and has scrolling windows to change the date, month and day of the week. Nifty huh! Now all I need is a cafe au lait and a croissant and I’ll have recreated Paris in my home office!

I have been busy seeking out some sumptuous treats for your delectation this Spring and have found some truly exquisite pieces for the taking (and some that will be appearing soon on a wall / cupboard / sideboard in my home!)

First off, let’s say we need some new threads. The winter cardies and trousers, tights and scarves were great for the nippy weather, but not now the sun is shining, the birds are singing – that means a whole new wardrobe!

Over on Plumo there are some really stunning dresses, below are a few that have tickled my fancy.

I love this yellow vintage tea dress, it’s all cornfields and sunshine and costs  £159 from Plumo (it is made of lovely silk georgette, mind.)  Or this pretty folk dress below for £139.

I’m really liking this folksy vibe that is hot at the moment, it’s the ultimate femine look and makes me feel like sipping home-made lemonade in the garden. For a cute accessory, I rather fancy this Bali bag – what a fab shade of green! It too is not the cheapest in the world but I would fork out the £59 for it in a heartbeat!

Finally, from Plumo, I adore this little leather purse (£25) I think I had something similar which I purchased from the caravan site shop on holiday in Wales many moons ago. Ah the nostalgia!

Over at Toast, I am really loving the uber blue shoes they have such as this soft nappa sandal and this strappy azure blue beaded thong sandal – both £89. Like wearing the sky on your feet!

So to the home front. Old reliable Graham and Green have got a great 20% off voucher code running at the moment and I’m tempted to splurge on a few things I have had my eye on for some time such as this lovely branch vase below which cost between £37 and £42.

Or these beautiful angel wing mirrors as seen in Living Etc – they are really unique and totally worth the £189 G & G are asking.

Ok, so it’s still a couple of weeks until pay day but I have been coveting some new buys as the autumn approaches – can’t you just smell it in the air?

I have been swooning over some new purchases that are set to make me feel like a queen this season and to give me a little boost as the nights start to draw in.

Take this delectable pocket mirror which I found on Plumo  – it’s only £6 and will be a welcome addition to my handbag.

I shall also be wearing these super cute ballerina shoes as sported by the lovely Mischa Barton – they can be found on good old ASOS.com

Ok, so what to wear with my shoes? Hmm? I spotted this lovely navy satin dress in Principles which oozes 30s glamour.

Team it with this rather fetching 30s silk cape located on saucy Coco de Mer’s site – it was £280 – eek!

I have also bid on this oh-la-la lovely 80s clutch on Whats Mine is Yours.com– a fab auction site definitely worth checking out – hands off the clutch though!

But of course, the outfit is not complete without a bit of sparkle: enter my new buy, a delectable and unique piece from quirky Etsy shop, Untamed Menagerie. I have bought this necklace (called Whatever Lola Wants) and I just can’t wait for it to arrive! If you like it, be quick, as there is only one left in stock (only £17 all in with P & P from the States – bargain.)

And as any princess knows, along with quaffing champagne while wearing a beautiful dress, one simply must also partake of a luxurious chocolate – and joy oh joy, I found the perfect ones to round off the super-luxe effect…yum! Well, there are the same choco makers that the HRH the Queen uses!

After an evening of dancing and other such delights, a lady should retire to her room, and what better way to relax than to slip off your shoes and pop on some comfy slippers. Toast does some rather sleek blue suede babouche numbers and they are described as ‘buttery soft’ – yup, that does it for me!
