Adoring all things vintage, whimsical and downright quirky

Cup cake box printable

I just had to blog these super sweet cup cake / party favour boxes which come as downloadable printables from Claudine Hellmuth – she sells them over on her Etsy shop. Reminiscent of old dolls houses with a good dash of 1950s retro chic, I simply love them. What a sweet idea! They even have a removable cupcake tray!

You get five oven colours in the kit (no need for fancy software either!) as well as little flags and cute oven-mitt gift tags to embellish your boxes with. Totally perfect gift idea!

Stop press! If you are looking for a beautiful scrummy cake then look no further! I have to shout out to the wonderful and talented Anne Paulette whose fabulous cakes are something to behold. This Bristol-based cupcake genius has just launched a new website and there are some absolutely stunning cakes available.

Annie is inspired by vintage glamour and this is evident in her super cute Tiffany Butterfly cupcakes  (below) and the Button cupcakes (bottom).

But my absolute favourite cake has to be the Victorian wedding cake! I love that Annie has an eye on the past to create something gorgeous for people’s futures!

I just bought a set of these white Matryoshka measuring cups for £9.99 at Bristol’s coolest gift-shop-type -emporium ‘Iota’ – it doesn’t have a website, but does have a Facebook page. Now I can bake my cakes in style! But while I was browsing for an online supplier, I came across Fred & Friends – a rather quirky little shop that stocks unsual and humorous products to make your home look good and put a smile on your chops.

I particularly like the ‘Foot in the door’ door stop (frustratingly prices are not listed next to the product – i believe you have to purchase through their outlets including Amazon and Fredflare.com) but well worth a browse.

I also found some other Matryoshka measuring cups in technicolour, but for quite a bit more (£28) at Antropologie:

I am totally in love with their bedding section too…have a look (if you dare!) Also in their sale section, they have this exquisite tea set, plucked from the very depths of the ocean! Feel like a mermaid while having a brew…only £7!

One last Matryoshka inspired bit of loveliness: How about this bunting? Cute eh? It costs £22 and can be found in Hunky Dory Home.

And their beautiful cushion too…(£22) Now that’s enough 🙂

Ah,  just look at the sun blazing in the blue sky, and the leaves crunching underfoot. I truly love autumn. As such I have found a few little treats to prolong the fuzzy feelings of warmth and contentedness – and how better than with a cup of tea and piece of cake…

One of my favourite textile designers is Maija Louekari who creates patterns for Marimeko – I have an ongoing love affair with graphic monochrome prints so I just had to put this new black and white Hetkia latte mug into the mix. It can be purchased here.

I also think that Etsy has some fine offerings too such as this Chickadee cup by Kristen K Swanson and this quirky ‘love bird’ dish by Paloma’s Nest.

And if you like your crockery simple but stylish, you can’t go far wrong with Polly George’s new set of designs. I love her Bow range but she also does butterflies and flowers too…

Now I have to mention cake – well food – and if you are seeking some inspiration, you should definitely check out The Barefoot Kitchen Witch blog (the recipes are divine!) I have also come across the “Baked” cookbook which is on Amazon for around £8.50 – I have already ordered mine and can’t wait – the choclolate brownies are to die for, so I hear.

And what about the humble toffee apple? Another great autumn treat that makes me want to wrap up warm and go strolling through the park! Easy to make, hard to forget and totally worth indulging in!

And being as it is nearly Halloween, I rather like this horror plate from ceramic designer Superpanda.

That concludes my tea and cake treats – now get baking!
